Well today when I was stopping to chat with an Indonesian friend, a white British guy cycles past and started speaking in pseudo Chinese to us. We were frankly, disgusted.

It’s really an insidious form of racism to judge someone’s heritage and culture based on physical appearances alone. I mean, it’d be like me meeting a Brit and assuming he/she is Russian/German/French cos “they all look the same to me” right? Or meeting a Welshman and then assuming he’s English?

People really need to learn to be more sensitive in cross-cultural relations. Seriously. We live in a globalized world and our economies are now tied inextricably to lands far away from us, with very different cultures and customs. Stop being so fucking thick and superficial. Because that’s the first step to being racist – being superficial, and thick.
